My journalism buddy
This was from Bill Kovach's farewell party at MTSU. We all skipped class and listened to every journalism professor at MTSU talk about how great Kovach is.
I think he's really going to make a big difference in my life, my career. His ideas are simple, almost common sense, until you realize that practically no one in the industry is writing journalism the way it was meant to be written.
He gave me his address in Maryland and I'll try to remember to write him next semester and send him issues of Sidelines.
Yesterday was the last day of class, and Kovach was gone. Sonny said that Kovach enjoyed the class so much that he still talks about it. He also still talks about the newspaper, which makes me beam.
I want to develop a lasting letter-writing relationship with Kovach and Hunter S. Thompson. I've already got an "in" with both of them.
